Moms Leader Says Extending TPS for Venezuelan Migrants Is a ‘Wise, Sensible Move’
Lisa Lederer, 202/371-1996
“The administration acted wisely, sensibly, and with compassion by extending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to some 400,000 additional Venezuelan migrants living in the United States. These parents and children cannot safely return to Venezuela, and they want and need the opportunity to remain here safely and legally and to continue supporting their families and contributing to our economy and society.
“Many immigrants from Venezuela have been here for many years and are home- and business-owners. Providing these opportunities and protections will have a positive effect across the country as more parents take on jobs and contribute to local economies, and more children join classrooms and share their culture with their new friends.
“America’s moms recognize that immigrants make our country strong and successful. Moms want every immigrant to be treated with compassion, dignity and respect.”
