America’s Moms Proud to Help Celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility

Statement of Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, Executive Director and CEO of MomsRising, the online and on-the-ground organization of more than one million mothers and their families, on the Transgender Day of Visibility today:

“America’s moms are proud to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people today, on the Transgender Day of Visibility. Moms in this country are transgender, are parents to transgender children, and supporters of the transgender community. We want trans people to be able to contribute fully to our society, and to live without facing discrimination, hate and violence.

“At MomsRising, we will continue working every day to support trans and gender non-conforming students, to fight censorship and bigotry, to keep politicians out of health care, to combat discrimination in our workplaces, and to fight every cruel anti-trans bill any state legislature considers. We will continue supporting the trans and non-binary community in every way we can. There is no place for bias or bigotry in our communities or our country.”
