America’s Moms Proud to Support 2024 Transgender Day of Visibility

Statement of Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, Executive Director and CEO of MomsRising, the online and on-the-ground organization of more than one million mothers and their families, on the Transgender Day of Visibility this Sunday, March 31:

“The country’s moms are proud to celebrate trans people this weekend, as the Transgender Day of Visibility approaches on Sunday. Many moms are transgender, are parents to transgender children, and supporters of the transgender community. We wholeheartedly support the lives and contributions of trans people and want everyone to be able to contribute fully to our society and to live without facing discrimination, hate or violence. That is not the case now, with shameful attacks on the trans community and especially trans youth taking place in too many states and at the federal level.

“There is no place for bias or bigotry in our communities or our country. At MomsRising, we will continue working to support trans and gender non-conforming students, to keep politicians out of health care, to fight bigotry, to end discrimination in our schools and workplaces, and to defeat every cruel, callous anti-trans bill any legislative body considers. Moms will continue demonstrating strong, unwavering support for the trans and non-binary community.”
