“The anti-abortion victories of the last year-and-a-half have been devastating losses for our country. Millions of moms and pregnant people have been denied the health care they need to be safe and healthy, protect their fertility, care for their families, and simply survive. The U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization has created massive hardship and trauma – with women of color, low-income women, young, rural and immigrant women, people with disabilities, and those who are LGBTQIA+ suffering the most – but no family is truly safe in this world without Roe v. Wade.

“Every day that anti-abortion zealots intrude in women’s reproductive health is a day when moms and pregnant people are endangered and our maternal mortality crisis gets even worse. The attacks on our access to mifepristone have intensified the immense cruelty and hardship moms and families are facing. Most people who have abortions are moms, and moms want abortion to be accessible to all who need it, regardless of where they live, their financial status, or the source of their health coverage. Being able to choose if we have children and, if so when and how many children to have, which includes access to abortion care, is a fundamental right.
