America’s Moms to Presidential Candidates: “Don’t Remain ‘AnonyMoose’ on Policies that Boost Families and Businesses”

New Hampshire Moms Deliver Chocolate “Moose Pops” to Presidential Front-Runners with Petition Urging Them to Discuss Family Economic Security Policies
A group of New Hampshire moms today joined MomsRising Executive Director and CEO Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner to encourage the Republican and Democratic Presidential Front-Runners to talk about their stands on policies such as paycheck fairness, access to paid family and medical leave, and quality early childhood education,  issues that will boost the nation’s families, businesses and the economy. The letter to the front-runners, which included more than 18,000 signatures, came with a surprising attachment: chocolate “moose pops.”  
 
“America’s families need a president who will fight for policies that boost our families, our businesses, and our economy. It’s time to put the concerns of women and working families front and center,” said Rowe-Finkbeiner. “We need to know where the candidates stand on top priority policies that help working families, so we are taking the question right to them and asking the presidential frontrunners – Ben Carson, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump – not to be ‘anonymoose’ about their positions on policies that will boost our nation’s families and are also proven to boost businesses and the economy.”
 
MomsRising members delivered the letter with thousands of signatures, moose pops and a book of stories illustrating the importance of family friendly policies to the New Hampshire campaign offices of all four frontrunners.
 
In between the deliveries, Rowe-Finkbeiner spoke at the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation annual lunch, “Changing Workplaces: Why Family-Friendly Policies Matter,” in Manchester. Her remarks addressed the need for policies that boost families, businesses, and our economy like paid family leave insurance, and pay equity for women.
 
Earlier this month, MomsRising members, along with members of the Every Child Matters Fund, delivered popcorn with messages urging the 2016 presidential candidates to participate in a forum on child and family issues to the front runners’ Iowa campaign offices.
 
MomsRising is also tracking all presidential candidates’ debate remarks for references to the policies that affect families, using a MomsRising Clue Detective Card that lists the organization’s top policy areas, including healthcare, gun safety, fair pay, childcare, racial equity and justice, and paid family leave. Moms, dads, kids and others around the country have been watching the debates, scoring the candidates and sharing their scores and opinions on social media.
