Biden-Harris Immigration Policy Will Make America Stronger by Replacing Cruelty and Chaos with Fairness and Humanity

Statement of leaders of MomsRising, the online and on-the-ground organization of more than one million mothers and their families, on the immigration-related executive orders President Biden signed today and the Biden-Harris immigration legislation sent to Congress today:

“In the very first hours after President Biden and Vice President Harris took office, they began implementing their positive, proactive, bold new immigration policy, which puts Trump’s racism and xenophobia firmly in the past by replacing cruelty and chaos with humanity, fairness and functionality. America’s moms applaud the executive orders that end the Muslim ban, which was state-sanctioned Islamophobia that betrayed our country’s values; halt construction of the border wall, which stands as a wasteful symbol of hate; and safeguard the Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. We commend, as well, the upcoming executive actions to improve processing of refugees at the border and establish a family reunification task force.
