Members of Congress, Moms, Parents, Caregiving Advocates to Hold News Conference Thursday to Share Personal Experiences that Demonstrate Why #CareCantWait

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Senators Robert Casey (D-PA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Patty Murray (D-WA) and Ron Wyden (D-OR), Reps. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Sara Jacobs (D-CA), and other congressional leaders will join moms, parents, caregivers, and caregiving advocates at a news conference on Thursday, October 21 at 12:30 pm to press for a care infrastructure in the Build Back Better budget reconciliation bill. The groups are carrying the message that moms, dads, caregivers, care workers, families, businesses, and our economy need a care infrastructure that includes paid family and medical leave, child care investments, home- and community-based services for older people and people with disabilities, a fully refundable Child Tax Credit (CTC), living wages and a path to citizenship for all care workers.
During this event, moms and advocates will share and listen to stories that underscore the urgent need for a care infrastructure to lift businesses, families, and our economy..
