Moms Tell U.S. Senate: Provide a Path to Citizenship for Immigrant Youth Now

“Home is here for the hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth whose lives and futures were upended, yet again, when a federal judge partially ended DACA Friday evening. These young people are parents to more than a quarter of a million U.S.-citizen children and pay millions of dollars in taxes each year. Many are serving on the frontlines during the pandemic, keeping us safe by providing health care and doing other essential work. Now, once again, they are at risk for deportation and being separated from their families.
“It is shameful that so many immigrants have been forced to live with uncertainty for years and it is well past time for it to end. America’s moms want the U.S. Senate to use the reconciliation process to provide a path to citizenship for immigrant youth, essential workers, farmworkers and TPS holders. The country needs them and they deserve the permanent protections that citizenship provides.”
