Moms and Kids to Deliver Handprint Tiles to Legislators Urging Family-Friendly Budget Solutions
MomsRising.org, the online and on-the-ground grassroots organization for moms and everyone who has a mom, will deliver hundreds of ceramic tiles with children’s handprints on them to state legislators urging them to “lend kids a hand” and preserve key children’s programs as they work to balance the budget at:
9:30 AM, Wednesday, July 1
North Carolina General Assembly
16 West Jones Street
Raleigh, North Carolina
Each tile will bear a note with a brief message from a North Carolina resident urging legislators to give kids and families a fair shake in their budget negotiations, by working to preserve programs like Smart Start and NC Health Choice, which ensure that young children get a healthy start in life. MomsRising.org, a nationwide organization that supports family-friendly policies, generated these messages through e-outreaches to its North Carolina audience.
MomsRising.org spokesperson Beth Messersmith will be on-site and available for comment.
