On 11th Anniversary of DACA, America’s Moms Say Permanent Protections for Dreamers Are Long Overdue
Lisa Lederer, 202/371-1996
“DACA has made our country stronger. DACA recipients are valued members of our communities and our workforce, and major contributors to our health care system and our economy. They deserve the chance to live, learn, and work in the only country most have ever called home, without fear of having their lives up-ended through deportation.
“Hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients have been forced to live in fear and limbo for too long. Many live in terror that their families will be torn apart. It’s time to recognize that ending DACA would create an economic and humanitarian catastrophe in our country and time to end the heartless, harmful legal and political attacks on this program.
“Congress must finally do what the overwhelming majority of voters want and give Dreamers permanent protections. That’s what America’s moms want and what the country needs.”
