“We Are Thrilled to See New York City #LeadonLeave.”
“New York City’s new paid parental leave program is an important step forward toward in the nationwide effort to support working parents. Next year, city employees will be able to take leave to care for a newborn baby or to take care of an ill family member of their own illness without a reduction in their paychecks.
“We are thrilled to see New York City #LeadonLeave and applaud Mayor DiBlasio for leading by example and recognizing that paid leave policies are win-win-win. They make for healthier and more stable working families, and are also good for employers, our communities, and our economy.
“This is the kind of forward-thinking workplace policy that we need to have for all workers. No one should ever have to make the impossible choice between staying home with a newborn or a sick child and a paycheck. We hope this program provides momentum for New York to be the next state to pass a state-wide paid leave program that ensures every working person has access to paid family leave.”
