“Today, I, along with the leaders of more than a dozen national women’s organizations met with the President and some of his closest advisors, including Valerie Jarrett, chair of the White House Council for Women and Girls and senior adviser and assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement; Cecilia Muñoz, director of the White House Domestic Policy Council; and Christina Tchen, executive director of the White House Council on Women and Girls and director of the White House Office on Public Engagement.
“We talked to the President and his advisors about the top priorities for women, children, and families – including health care, family leave, child care, fair pay and jobs. And we were heard. We will continue to push these policy priorities forward and keep them high on the national agenda.
“We support the President as he stands firms on ending tax cuts for the wealthy, on extending tax cuts for the middle-class and most vulnerable, and on protecting health care for women, children, and families – in particular, protecting Medicaid.”
