U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 Will Help Restore Fairness, Compassion and Integrity to Our Immigration System

Statement of leaders of MomsRising, the online and on-the-ground organization of more than one million mothers and their families, on the introduction of the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 in the U.S. Congress today:

“The U.S. Citizenship Act is legislation our country urgently needs. It prioritizes keeping families together and reunifying those our government tore apart. It creates a roadmap to allow undocumented people, including DREAMers, Temporary Protected Status holders, immigrant farmworkers, and essential workers, to earn citizenship. It stops the cruel, punitive policies that have hurt so many mixed-status families. It includes smart, sensible policies to manage the border and address the causes of migration from Central America. It will help restore the fairness, compassion and integrity our immigration system needs.
