Preschool dance party in the Rotunda with Caspar Babypants, families, and wee ones bring the beats to the capitol to support early learning.
SEATTLE – The state Capitol will be rocking Friday, February 5th as families, friends, and preschoolers join Caspar Babypants for a sing-along to build support for quality early learning programs.
MomsRising organized this event to ensure that the WA State Legislature doesn't forget the littlest residents of our state. Particularly in difficult economic times, we must make sure that all children have a healthy start, and prioritize important programs that bring long-term cost savings for taxpayers such as increased access to early learning.
MomsRising approached Caspar Babypants, also known to music fans as Chris Ballew, the lead singer of the Presidents of the United States of America, to help them put on a dance party that would capture the spirit of children and the attention of legislators and the public.
“Too often we're penny-wise and pound-foolish,” said Kristin Rowe Finkbeiner, Executive Director and Co-Founder of MomsRising. “We can't afford to be foolish with our kid’s future at stake. We want to share that message with legislators in the singing voices of children.”
