ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND– On Thursday, January 11th at 10 AM, Maryland members of the Working Matters Coalition will rally outside of the the State House on Lawyers Mall to show support for earned sick leave, urging Maryland legislators to vote ‘yes’ to override Gov. Hogan’s veto of HB 1, the Healthy Working Families Act ,passed by the legislature last spring. Following the rally, volunteers will deliver petition signatures and booklets of stories to legislators’ offices urging a prompt vote on the veto override.

The bill passed both the State House and the State Senate with enough votes to override the governor’s veto, before Gov. Hogan vetoed the legislation last spring.
