“Last night, on the eve of the announcement that he will run for re-election, President Trump made ominous threats that suggest his administration will soon begin conducting raids, mass arrests, and mass deportations that target immigrant families. This was clearly a warm-up to the rally he will hold tonight, which we expect will feature even more of his racist, xenophobic hate- and fear-mongering. Trump is sowing seeds of hate and division and his tactics that are abhorrent -- cruel, irresponsible, racist, and absolutely not okay.

America’s moms soundly and unequivocally reject Trump’s callous immigration policies.

"We demand that the immoral separation of families stop and that every child be reunited with his or her mom or family member. We want to see our government do much more to prioritize the health, safety and human rights of asylum-seekers, and to treat every immigrant and migrant family with compassion, dignity, humanity and respect.

 “We recognize this as another attempt by the President to divide us. He wants to divert attention from all he has done to enrich already wealthy people and corporations, and from his relentless attempts to cut programs like Medicaid and Medicare, food and housing assistance, which working families need.

 “We urge lawmakers to prevent the atrocities Trump threatens. Immigration has always made America stronger and more prosperous. That remains true today.”
