Members of Congress to Join Coalition of 70+ Advocacy Organizations to Host Press Conference Endorsing Crucial Public Safety Legislation

Join us at the House Triangle on Tuesday, April 16th, at 2:00 PM for a press conference hosted by the Community Safety Agenda, a coalition of 70+ organizations with a re-imagined vision of public safety. We will be endorsing pivotal legislative bills aimed at promoting community safety and well-being. Representative Cori Bush, Representative Ayanna Pressley, Representative Katie Porter, and Representative Jesus “Chuy” Garcia will be joining us, as well as members of the coalition, including MomsRising.The endorsed bills include:

  • People's Response Act

  • Mental Health Justice Act

  • Opening Doors to Youths

  • Counseling Not Criminalization in Schools Act

  • And more!

In alignment with the Community Safety Agenda's principles, these bills embody a movement- and evidence-informed approach to public safety. They prioritize care, connection, and prevention over punishment, control, and isolation. By investing in holistic programs that address root causes and break cycles of harm, these bills aim to keep individuals, families, and communities safe.
