Please join @MomsRising, @AmHeartAdvocacy and @CSPI Friday, July 24th from 1 pm to 2pm EDT for a #FoodFri tweetchat to discuss sodium.
Congress, companies and some school food service organizations are trying to roll back sodium guidelines for school foods. Some reporters are calling into question the science behind the need to lower sodium in our diets.
Join us to discuss what’s happening with sodium in schools, the evidence for decreasing sodium intake, how to do it, and why it’s important for both adults and kids.

More about our #FoodFri Featured Co-Host(s):
Since 1971, CSPI has been a strong advocate for nutrition and health, food safety, alcohol policy, and sound science.
Founded by executive director Michael Jacobson, Ph.D. and two other scientists, CSPI carved out a niche as the organized voice of the American public on nutrition, food safety, health and other issues during a boom of consumer and environmental protection awareness in the early 1970s. CSPI has long sought to educate the public, advocate government policies that are consistent with scientific evidence on health and environmental issues, and counter industry’s powerful influence on public opinion and public policies.
Connect with CSPI on their website, Twitter and Facebook.
AmHeart Advocacy provides news, tips and information on heart disease, stroke and CVD health policy. Find out more information on how to advocate for the Amercian Heart Association on their website and on Twitter, @AmHeartAdvocacy.
