Got Child Care struggles? Your lawmakers need to know!
This Mother’s Day, help us share your child care experiences so lawmakers know how big and consequential the child care crisis is…. And how not having childcare pushes moms out of the workforce because we know waitlists are simply too long, moms need to travel miles to find a center because there are none in their communities, and the summer care conundrum which is around the corner.
We need to hear from you: What are your child care needs right now? Are you struggling to pay for child care? Are they experiencing long waitlists or staffing issues? Celebrate Motherhood by sharing your experiences with legislators and reminding them, moms don’t need good thoughts and wishes for Mother’s Day– they need action on child care!

Vote like child care depends on it (because it does!)
Child care continues to be unaffordable and inaccessible while child care providers are paid poverty level wages. We need leaders that understand the challenges that America’s families are facing. ALL 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 34 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be up for election this November. This is a big deal, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to be correctly registered!
Use MomsRising’s super quick and easy tool to make sure you are registered to vote and all your information is up to date. If you haven’t registered yet, you can register now!
ACT NOW: Maternal Mental Health Justice includes Reproductive Care!
We can no longer ignore that the maternal mental health crisis in the United States is being worsened by the attacks on our reproductive freedoms. Because we do not live single-issue lives, women's health issues are intertwined.
On multiple fronts, women are fighting efforts that give authority over our reproduction to politicians and judges. Moms are the most affected by this because the fact is 6 out of 10 women who get abortions are already mothers.
This current state of affairs, where our reproductive rights are being stripped away, is only worsening the mental health of women, mothers, and birthing people. Recent data has shown an increase in depression and anxiety symptoms in states where abortion bans are in place.
Urge Congress to address reproductive health access and maternal mental health!
TELL CONGRESS: Pass the Black Maternal Health Momnibus!
Right now, the United States is the most dangerous place to give birth in the developed world, with major racial disparities where Black women lose their lives at 3 to 4 times the rate of white women due to maternity-related causes, independent of age, economic background, or education, a fact that has done unchanged for several decades. If we’re going to save our moms, we need everyone to be a part of the solution.
This is where the Black Maternal Health Momnibus can make a real difference. This packet of legislation takes urgent, serious action to end this crisis by building on existing legislation in Congress to comprehensively address every dimension of America’s maternal health crisis.
