Ali Smith is a photographer whose passion is exploring the lives of women. Her first book, "Laws of the Bandit Queens", was released by Random House and celebrated 35 incredible, groundbreaking women who influenced her in her career and personal goals, including Alice Walker, Sandra Bernhard and Geraldine Ferraro. Ali is currently working on a book called "The Mother Half" which is an exploration of the reality of how women are living their lives as mothers, and a look at the varying degrees of support they are getting.
Ali has taught photography in NYC public schools, has lectured and shown her work at NYU and the International Center of Photography, has exhibited internationally, including at ICP, Milk Studios and Sandbox Studios, and has had editorial run in numerous magazines internationally.
She lives in NYC with her son and husband.
