Kate Irish is a non-profit consultant and mother of two living in Durham, North Carolina. Kate's career has focused on expanding access to and quality of early care and education and family support programming. She has non-profit leadership experience with a focus on systems change, collaboration and program management and evaluation. She was previously Program Director at Durham's Partnership for Children and Program Officer at North Carolina Partnership for Children, A Smart Start Initiative. Kate is a passionate community volunteer serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and steward of a Little Free Library.

The first time I realized the power of nature and outdoor time for children was when my daughter was just 6 weeks old. We were having an especially difficult afternoon.
