In Light of Third Credible Allegation of Sexual Violence, Kavanaugh Must Withdraw, Moms Leader Says

“With a third courageous survivor coming forward with credible allegations of sexual violence by Judge Brett Kavanaugh, the administration should withdraw Kavanaugh’s nomination.
“Should the Senate Judiciary Committee decide to push forward with its hearing on Kavanaugh, the country deserves a full FBI investigation of these serious accusations first. The Senate must delay any action on this nominee until an investigation has been completed. Anything else would make a mockery of the Senate confirmation process and surrender the legitimacy of a U.S. Supreme Court that includes a justice who was confirmed in this way.
“We applaud and stand with the brave, selfless women who have stepped forward to share their traumatic personal experiences. While much of the country is rallying behind these survivors of sexual assault, Senate leaders thus far have tried to ram this confirmation through. Instead of #BelieveWomen, they want to #IgnoreWomen. That is unacceptable.
“Senators had strong reason to refuse to confirm Kavanaugh based on the powerful evidence that he would deny families health care and education, cause lasting damage to our ability to live and work free from discrimination, jeopardize a range of gun safety laws, and support President Trump’s sexist, racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant agenda.
“Our country deserves much better.”
