MomsRising to Present Awards to State & County Leaders in Pittsburgh Sunday as Lawmakers, Moms, Families Celebrate Parent Power

This Sunday at 2 PM, MomsRising will host a Parent Power Celebration at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh. The event will celebrate graduates of the MomsRising Fellowship Program, which empowers parents in Allegheny County to fight for the public polices their families need, including affordable child care, paid family and medical leave, and more. The celebration will also mark the launch of MomsRising’s new parent leadership training toolkit, which will supercharge more than 1,000 parent leaders statewide.
At the event, MomsRising will present awards to Pennsylvania leaders who have championed policies that support working families, including:

Representatives from Senator Casey’s office, State Senator Jay Costa’s office, and more
Partner organizations from across Allegheny County are also joining the celebration, to share updates on their work and information about their programs, including Trying Together, Just Harvest, Women and Girls Foundation, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Gwen’s Girls, Healthy Start, Young Black Motivated Kings and Queens, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Professional Women’s Network, AMP Global Youth and Heinz Endowments.
The celebration, which will include children, will include free family portraits, a magician, and a DJ. It is open to media.
