Calling All Children's Health Supporters! (Simple ways you can show your support for CHIP)
MomsRising, Young Invincibles, and First Focus are working together to mobilize a groundswell of grassroots support for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Funding for this critical program is set to expire later this year unless Congress takes action, so it’s crucial that they hear from children’s health supporters across the country.
This is why we’ve made it super easy to show your support for CHIP in a number of different ways! Take action on one or all of these options to raise your voice for children’s health.
- Sign our petition! Petitions are a great way to give lawmakers a quick snapshot of how much support is building on a particular issue. Our CHIP petition has thousands of signatures which shows this topic is one that has growing support. Add your name here: http://action.momsrising.org/sign/chipra_2014_Collaboration/
- Send a letter to the editor! Since members of Congress spend so much time in Washington, D.C. one way they track what is on the minds of their constituents is by reading their local paper. Use our magical tool that makes writing a letter to the editor super easy! When you click the link, you’ll be given a sample letter (that you can edit!), talking points, and key facts to use: http://action.momsrising.org/lte/CHIP_LTE_Collaboration/
- Call your Senator’s office: Dial 1-844-639-3751 right now and we’ll give you a short suggestion on what you can say and then connect you automatically with one of your Senator’s offices.
Together, we can make sure Congress knows how important children’s health is to people across the country! Take action now, and then share this blog on social media to help spread the word.
If you or someone you know has benefited from CHIP, tell us about it! Share your experiences here: https://www.momsrising.org/member_stories/topic/chip-stories/
