MomsRising members are being heard! Soledad, a member in California, shared her personal story on needing overtime protections. We delivered it to her Congressperson, Rep. Mark Takano, who read her story as part of a Congressional hearing on the overtime rule.

Rep. Takano said, "It's important not to lose sight of the millions of workers the overtime rule will help," and shared Soledad's story, in which she describes regularly working overtime without getting paid for her hours.

Rep. Takano adds, "According to the Economic Policy Institute, 12.5 million salaried workers like Soledad will benefit from the rule. It helps 6.2 million women, 4.2 million parents, and 5.5 million workers between the ages of 35 and 54."

Rep.Takano shares Soledad's story at about the 0:40 mark.

THANK YOU Soledad for sharing your personal story! And THANK YOU Rep. Takano for sharing her story, making it part of the official Congressional record, and standing up for workers and families across the nation!
