This is your chance to make a difference for reproductive rights.
As I gear up for the end of the season and reflect on the year, I can’t help but feel a surge of gratitude for our amazing MomsRising community of supporters for abortion rights and Reproductive Justice. Your passion for change has been a driving force behind everything we’ve achieved this year and every year. I’m still overjoyed by the way reproductive rights advocates and passionate voters showed up to Ohio polls to protect abortion rights in their state. If Ohioans taught us anything this year it’s that when we show up not only do we show out, we win.
This health crisis we’re in isn’t about a deteriorating number of contraception experts, OB-GYNs, nurses or pregnancy specialists. This is a complex puzzle that is being fueled by systemic racism, sexism, gender oppression and class discrimination. Period.
We still have a ways to go but the one thing that keeps us doing this work is your persistence and perseverance. YOU signed MomsRising petitions, shared personal stories, rallied, and met with lawmakers this year. You are truly a champion of this work and it isn’t easy but together, with your unwavering support, we are slowly but surely creating a society where everyone has the autonomy to make choices about their bodies, futures and livelihood of their family’s lives
Thank you for being a catalyst for change. Thank you for your commitment to protect abortion and advance Reproductive Justice. Thank you for staying in the ring with us, even when the fight seems unfair and impossible to win. Change is inevitable and it will come. Together, we WILL win.
With appreciation,
Diarra and the entire MomsRising Maternal Justice team!
