It's GO TIME in Pennsylvania! From writing postcards to other mom voters, to hosting events on the ground and online, MomsRising members are making sure the parent voice will be heard loud and clear on election day. Here are some highlights, and ways to get involved:

Postcard parties: Over 40 MosRising members led MomsVote Meet Ups in their community this month, ranging from a drop-in postcard event at a local library, to a pizza party at a local restaurant. And many, many more joined the over 70,000 members who wrote postcards individually. Thank you to everyone who supported this monumental effort, in any capacity. Wow wow!

We're also meeting members on the ground this month, with MomsVote events in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and York! Join us:

Saturday 10/12, 9am-2pm in York, PA. Join us for Cupcakes and Democracy at Catalina's Cafe! We'll have games for kids, write postcards to voters, and offer resources for checking and confirming you're registered to vote. Stop by any time, and bring your kids, friends, and family too. RSVP required here (so we can ensure we have enough cupcakes!). Event co-hosted with CASA.

Thursday 10/17, 7-9pm Online. Join us for the Pennsylvania Family Voting Party. We'll celebrate voting, hear from special guests, and get the latest reminders and resources on voting. RSVP required here (First 100 people receive Family Voting Party Kits in the mail!). Event co-hosted with Red, Wine and Blue and the New Pennsylvania Project, with support from Maternity Cares Coalition, the Campaign for a Family-Friendly Economy, and many more!

Saturday 10/19 in Harrisburg, PA (Final time TBD). Join us for Cupcakes and Democracy at El Verdadero Sabor de México. We'll have games for kids, write postcards to voters, and offer resources for checking and confirming you're registered to vote. Stop by any time, and bring your kids, friends, and family too. Event co-hosted with CASA.

Sunday 10/20, 11am-1pm in Pittsburgh. MomsRising and Single Mom Defined are excited to host a FREE MomsVote Skating and Pizza Party! Join us to have some fun, celebrate voting, and get our kids excited about voting, too! We're excited to welcome special guest Dr. Holly Hatcher-Frazer, of Lifetime's Dance Moms! You'll be able to check your registration, get tips on mail-in ballots, and get inspired to make your voice heard. We'll also have lots of games, prizes, face painters, photo booths, and of course skating. This event is open to all mothers and children as we celebrate election season. RSVP for your FREE ticket now!

And make sure you're subscribed to our Pennsylvania Rise and Shine Bi-Weekly Updates, with the latest tips and resources on voting, and other issues that matter to PA families. Share Now: Make Sure the Student Vote is Counted

Did you know there are almost 650k college and graduate students in PA? Whether you are one, or know one, let's make sure their votes are counted! Here are useful reminders to download and share.

To vote in PA, college students must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the election;
  • Be a resident of their election district for at least 30 days before the next election;
  • Be at least 18 on Election Day.

College students can register where they currently live (on or off campus) or at their prior home address, as long as they still have family living there. Find out more at Spotlight PA, or vote.PA.gov.

Check Your Registration Now: Share with 3 Friends

Together, let's make sure no one misses the deadline to register or request a mail-in ballot. If you've moved, changed your name, turned 18, or have any doubts whatsoever about being registered, take some time this week to check. Then please share this information with 3 friends or family members who might need to do the same. Here are some handy graphics you can download and use.
