I have two children who are 21 months apart. From the time that my oldest started in daycare at 6 weeks of age until the time that my son finished at age 5, we were in 9 different childcare settings. Everytime I thought they were both settled, a teacher changed or they moved to the next classroom or there was a modification that changed the quality of the situation. It was extremely difficult - took a great deal of time & energy in finding new locations - as well as lots of resources (both time & financial.) We need to find a way to have more quality recognition in childcare. Otherwise, parents will continue to go through the struggles that I did. Thank goodness I had understanding employers and an engaged partner who were willing to give me the time I needed to make this happen.
