Hello, I'm laura mui, a licensed marriage and family therapist, parent, daughter, sister, partner, teacher, activist and...!  In my practice, Conscious Roots, I offer humor, warmth, compassion, appreciation, equity and authenticity to support people in their journey towards self-awareness, self love, self- acceptance, and self-empowerment.  I believe that a person's internal terrain is the least traveled and the most rewarding and impactful for both personal and community transformation.  My practice is held with love inside Oakland Floats, in Oakland's dynamic Temescal district.  As a parent, I try my best to raise a socially conscious, responsible, free-thinking, free-feeling, empowered and loving human being.  My child is my inspiration, a source of both stress and joy(!) and the number one reason why I am an activist and work towards an equitable, awakened world.  with peace, love and gratitude.
