This July 4, MomsRising is urging our members to declare independence from toxic chemicals and become part of the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families campaign!
At MomsRising, we hear from members all the time who are deeply concerned about dangerous chemicals in the environment and in the products we use every day, including toys, food containers, cleaning products, even maternity and infant gear. That’s why we have joined the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families campaign.
This campaign is a national effort to create a strong, comprehensive solution to fix the law that is failing to protect our families from toxic chemicals that harm our health and the environment.
If you believe you have the right to be healthy, the right to work and raise your family in a safe environment, and the right to know what chemicals are in your body, this is the national campaign you’ve been waiting for!
What can you do? Step one is sending a letter to your Members of Congress telling them it’s time to take action to ensure safer chemicals and healthy families.
You can do that by clicking here:

You can also visit the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families Web site at www.saferchemicals.org to learn more about this campaign.
The partner organizations of the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families campaign are an incredibly diverse group, which represent the millions of people in America across the political spectrum who are concerned about toxic chemicals.
Exposure to toxic chemicals is a problem for everyone, but is of particular concern for pregnant women and children. That’s why MomsRising’s partners in this campaign include experts in health care, fertility and reproductive issues, as well as learning and developmental disability advocates. National and state environmental health and justice organizations are also key partners in this effort to reform outdated and ineffective chemicals policy.
Be sure to check out the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families Facebook page for a full listing of organizations supporting this campaign. Become a fan of the campaign and urge your friends to become fans, too.
In the coming months MomsRising will provide our members with regular updates on the work of this campaign, and educational materials to share with your friends and neighbors about the risks to families and pregnant women associated with toxic chemicals, and the need for policy reform.
We need all hands on deck to declare our independence from toxic chemicals and work to achieve our goal of safer chemicals and healthy families.
