Unbelievably, we’re only 2 months into 2025. We don’t know about you, but it feels like 20 years already. MomsRising – along with you – is navigating a relentless wave of harmful executive orders, a series of extremist and unqualified nominees, an on-and-off illegal federal funding freeze threatening families and small businesses alike, and an intentionally created environment of chaos and uncertainty. This is not a good moment for democracy.
At the same time, the over 1,148,074 members of MomsRising are very much rising. Our MOMentum continues to build. With member action rates already quadrupling in early 2025 compared to 2024, our movement’s strength and determination remains unshakable.
Your incredible support is more vital than ever – and is fueling MomsRising being able to continue our essential work: combating disinformation, protecting healthcare, defending public education, speaking up for democracy, supporting military families, standing up to Elon Musk and Donald Trump, and so much more.
Scroll on to see just some of the impact your generosity made possible this month – and why your continued support is so crucial during this time.
Thank you for standing with us and building a movement that's rising for a better future, no matter what obstacles we face.
With boundless gratitude,
Kristin, Catalina, Linda, Tina, and everyone at MomsRising

MOMSRISING LAUNCHES NATIONAL PILOT PROGRAM
The bad news is coming in so fast that it’s hard to keep up – and that is the goal of the Trump Administration: to overwhelm and isolate us from each other. But we aren’t letting that happen and are launching a new program for people to connect, organize, and build even more power locally across the country: Moms Next Door!
This is a powerful pilot, when people sign up for the Moms Next Door pilot program, MomsRising provides:
- Monthly Skill-Up, Power-Harnessing Virtual Workshops: Join us for monthly, virtual workshops where we will share information, education, and resources to workshop how we will create change together.
- Monthly Action Toolkit: Each month, MomsRising will share a Monthly Action Toolkit with a menu of actions, and suggestions for Moms Next Door gatherings and actions for you to explore and to consider what will work for you and your community. The regular action menu may include the following for you to choose what works for you:
- Local actions people can take together;
- Book group support (Fiction books & non-fiction books, your choice);
- Playgroup and action meet up ideas;
- Coffee group steps suggestions;
- Craft action circle ideas;
- Mutual Aid recommendations;
- Shared learning opportunities;
- And more.
- An easy communications platform to stay connected locally.

MOMSRISING TACKLES DISINFORMATION
Thanks to your generous support, MomsRising kicked off 2025 with a crucial Post-Inauguration Community Meeting focused on combating disinformation and strengthening our democracy. Thousands of participants joined Research Directors from Media Matters, along with MomsRising's leadership team, for an enlightening discussion on recognizing and countering disinformation in our political landscape.
The full session recording is available on our YouTube channel, and additional resources can be accessed at mediamatters.org.

NC MOMS WIN 2025 HEALTHCARE PRIVACY PROTECTIONS
States are rising – and winning – in 2025! One big example is that MomsRising's North Carolina members helped secure a major victory for reproductive healthcare access as Gov. Josh Stein signed an Executive Order protecting patient and provider privacy and safeguarding access to care. The Order directs state agencies to protect medical professionals providing legal reproductive healthcare services and prohibits cabinet agencies from participating in efforts to penalize providers or patients. MOMS ACT PASSES IN DECEMBER 2024 TO LIFT MILITARY FAMILIES
At the end of 2024, just before Trump took office, we had a significant victory together: MomsRising celebrated the inclusion of The MOMS Act in December's National Defense Authorization Act. This pilot program provides vital mental health support for at-risk military mothers, benefiting service members and spouses nationwide. This achievement reflects the powerful advocacy of MomsRising members who stood up for military families. Thank you!

None of this is OK.” – MomsRising Executive Director Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner
