Moms Mobilize for Vice President Kamala Harris!

Our 2024 mom voter engagement campaign entered high gear and gained serious MOMentum in July!

So much happened! We endorsed Vice President Harris for President of the United States, thanked President Biden for his administration’s many accomplishments that lifted our families and our economy, and also convened a Moms for Harris on Zoom, with thousands and thousands of people in attendance, that featured leaders and representatives from over a dozen organizations, including: U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal, Family Values @ Work, Hustle Mommies, Moms First, MomsRising, Mothering Justice, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Women’s Law Center, Paid Leave for All, Parents Together, Red Wine and Blue, the Women’s March and more!

Talk about Mom Power!! We were thrilled when more than 6,541 moms signed up to attend the Moms For Harris Zoom, along with over 9,400 more who watched on Facebook Live, and that more than 114,037 people have watched it online so far after the event! That’s not all! Moms across the nation are unifying and mobilizing – and signing up to volunteer to help get out the vote.

Get ready for a tidal wave of Mom Power that will shape the future of our nation!

With every action, from pen to poll, we're proving that when moms come together, we are a potent political force for good. Your support fuels this MOMentum – together, we're not just participating in democracy, we're supercharging it!

NORTH CAROLINA CHILD CARE FUNDS RESCUED

After an intensive advocacy campaign, MomsRising North Carolina and our partners achieved a huge victory: The North Carolina General Assembly passed an emergency stopgap funding measure to sustain child care providers through the first half of the fiscal year. This triumph came through relentless efforts, including compelling story deliveries, strategic email campaigns, persistent phone calls, and high-visibility press conferences. Beyond securing crucial funding, this win elevates child care to a top legislative priority — a monumental shift in political focus. Our collective voices have kept vital services afloat and ensured the voices of families are heard in key budget negotiations.

MOVING FORWARD PAID FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE

Leaders gather at the Glamour and Paid Leave for All event calling for universal paid family and medical leave.

Nothing more GLAM than delivering a Paid Leave for All & Glamour Magazine petition to Congress with more than 55,000 signatures (including from MomsRising!) calling for a national paid family and medical leave program. The U.S. is one of only 7 countries in the world without this critical policy in place yet, and we’re working hard to change that every day. Thank you to Paid Leave for All for incredible leadership, to Glamour for championing, to all the members of Congress who joined us on the Hill, and to the tens of thousands of moms and caregivers who urged Congress to pass this critical policy to lift our families, businesses, and economy.

THE NEW YORK TIMES: ‘We Feel Stuck’: Child Care Needs Limit Women’s Work Force Gains
“We know for a fact that moms in particular get pushed out of the labor force regularly when there isn’t access to affordable child care and when we don’t have paid family medical leave.” – MomsRising Executive Director Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner (MomsRising member Jessica Cuevas is also featured)
