‘Tis the season for gratitude and MOMentum!
In November, fired up by your relentless energy, generosity and kindness, the MomsRising community celebrated the vote in the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the Build Back Better Act; which the MomsRising community made over 876,000 constituent contacts to help make happen! We also observed Native American Heritage Month (with a BONUS book list), cheered for the CDC approval of vaccines for children ages 5-11 and proudly witnessed the signing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
And we asked, what’s in your heart today?

IN OUR HEARTS
Earlier this month, we asked members like you an important question: What’s in your heart right now?
"My heart is grateful for folks who work for children and moms. Kids are our future. We need to do everything in our power to nurture and sustain them." — Jane from Pennsylvania
“I am guessing many who are part of MomsRising are empaths like me, who feel responsible for fixing all the wrongs done in the world. May we feel joy, and grow in joy as we work together and know we are not alone in this quest.” — Deb from Wisconsin
“My heart is ok. I have other issues; I am 70 years old, and I have arthritis, alzheimer...However, my heart is ok.” — Manolete from Oregon

THE LONG ROAD TO BUILD BACK BETTER
We, TOGETHER, just helped move a mountain — the Build Back Better Act passed the U.S. House, with 4 weeks of paid family/medical leave, free Pre-K for all 3 and 4 year olds, policies that cut childcare costs in half, living wages for care workers, maternal health justice provisions, an expansion of the Child Tax Credit, home- and community-based services for people with disabilities and the aging, and so much more! That was A LOT of work, powered by the contributions and spirit of members like you. Key mom-power highlights include:
- A crush of thousands of calls to Congress from members like you urging them to vote the Build Back Better Act forward ASAP
- Moms and caregivers went to offices of key members of Congress to deliver a powerful message (and real life cute care bears along with member stories!): Don’t put parents in an unBEARable situation, vote YES on the Build Back Better Act.
- Dozens of adorable (and powerful) caregiver parades to share why families and caregivers need the Build Back Better Act
- A mighty march and rally in Washington, D.C., to lift the importance of the Build Back Better Act to care workers, families, businesses, and the economy, alongside Service Employees International Union, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the National Women’s Law Center, and Paid Leave for All, the #CareCantWait Coalition; and MomsRising also organized a powerful #CareCantWait event on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol with many members of the House and Senate, including the Speaker of the House, to rally for Build Back Better.
