I Delivered MomsRising Letters To My TX Congresspeople. You Can Too!

I am 66 years old and currently receiving Medicare and Social Security benefits.  I am an ordained minister, though not currently serving a church.  I have been a Learning Disabilities teacher in the public school system.  Currently I am a piano teacher and a church musician.
 
My heart goes out to all the folks that President Trump and the Republicans are trampling over in order to provide the wealthy with even more wealth.  Many of those who have much have no heart nor empathy for those who are dearly struggling to make ends meet for the families they love.  They have no understanding, no clue...being totally ignorant of much of the human condition, and they prey on those whom they deem lesser in value, prestige and status than they.  
 
I am angry at that situation...angry that President Trump and the Republican Party and large corporations are determined to slash the life-line of Medicare and Social Security for those who need it so that enormous tax cuts can be funded for themselves!   Great Scott!  What do Love, and Justice, and Honor demand of us?  There comes a time when we must take courage and stand up for what is right.  Now is the time.
 
That's why, a couple weeks ago, I decided to answer Elyssa's email and sign up to deliver a letter to my Congressperson here in Texas. I made 4 copies of the MomsRising letter for delivery to Congressfolk. And I did personally deliver one to the San Angelo office of Rep. Michael Conaway and laid it on his desk though he was not there, of course.  I was not allowed to take any pictures since his office was in a federal building.  Our two Senators (Cornyn and Cruz) do not have an office in San Angelo.  So I paid the postage for the other three letters to be delivered to all three Congressmen in Washington, D.C. by Wednesday night.
 
I am most impressed with the testimonies of the women in the letter regarding the specifics of how the Republican Tax Bill will affect their lives.  These are exactly what all the Congressfolk need to see!!  Congratulations to Elyssa and all others who helped pull this letter together!  I know it was a whale of a lot of work.  May it truly be worth it as other American Moms deliver their letters!  Thank you so much!
