Happy June! The sun is out and so are families celebrating Pride! We’re sharing stats and stories by and for LGBTQ+ moms and families throughout the month on the blog and social media. Keep an eye out for the rainbows coming from the MomsRising and MamásconPoder accounts!

And just in time for the presidential debates, this month we’ve also rolled out our comprehensive Mom Platform: Mom Crafted, Mom Approved! Check it out and make sure to add your voice on our blog: Which issues are most important to you? We want to know!

Speaking of sharing your thoughts: What do you love about being a MomsRising supporter? What do you think we should tackle next? Send your thoughts to me, anita@momsrising.org. Thank you!

MOMS EQUAL PAY DAY

The Women's World Cup is on — and so is ALL U.S. women’s fight for equal pay.

MomsRising moved the equal pay ball forward with Moms’ Equal Pay Day on June 10, marking the fact that moms – across race and ethnicity – must work until June 10 of 2019 to earn what dads made in 2018 alone.

Thanks to your support, we mobilized thousands in the MomsRising community to dial up the pressure on the U.S. Senate to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, support paid sick days, paid family and medical leave, and affordable childcare.

The Men Who Lost Their Wives During Childbirth
MEL Magazine, June 13, 2019

“‘We point a lot to Serena’s story because this is a very well-known woman with enormous resources who almost died because she was being ignored during childbirth,’ Bandele explains. As such, she believes many black women don’t stand a chance at combating the inherent racism and implicit bias in the American medical system.”
