The National WIC Association Is Doing MORE In the Community! Learn More At #FoodFri!
The National WIC Association has been working with local WIC agencies around the country through the Community Partnerships for Healthy Mothers and Children project to improve health.
The focus of the project has been on policy, systems and environmental change, which is slightly different than WIC’s traditional role of providing direct service to the community. Some of these projects have included:
- Expanding healthy menu options at local restaurants
- Working with corner stores to stock more healthy options
- Establishing new community gardens and farmers’ markets
Join #FoodFri on May 8, 2016, 1p.m. Eastern, to chat with @MomsRising and @NatWICAssoc and hear more about the projects that are being done around the country, including how WIC impacts the community and country, as well as local success stories!
