Self-taught home cook and two-time cancer survivor Ann Ogden Gaffney discovered during her months of treatment for breast cancer that she was able to find powerful relief for her symptoms through cooking. Realizing that other patients and families could benefit from the skills and techniques she'd learned, she began to offer advice, recipes, and free classes to fellow patients.
In 2007, she founded Cook For Your Life, a nonprofit to teach cancer patients and survivors about cooking. Since starting, Cook For Your Life has directly served over nine thousand plus cancer patients through hands-on cooking classes, and served over three and a half million more through the free website cookforyourlife.org.
Cook For Your Life is not about food as medicine- it’s about preparing nourishing food which will sooth your body and put the joy back into eating.
