I have an unusual dual professional role as a pediatrician at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and the Sustainability Manager for the University Hospitals health system, in Cleveland, OH. I’m also the mother of two young daughters.
In my professional and personal life, I’m committed to promoting health and sustainability – protecting the natural environment for future generations, providing a safe and non-toxic home for my family and workplace for my colleagues & patients, and supporting an inclusive and just economy.
I believe that there are actions we can all take to make our home lives healthier, safer, and more environmentally friendly, and I know that there are many like-minded parents out there who are also concerned about making healthy, safe, and environmentally friendly choices for their kids and families.
I hope that this blog will provide some useful comments for a broad audience about environmental issues that relate to children’s health, and will also be a helpful forum for like-minded parents to hear the balanced medical opinion of a pediatrician who is committed to living green.
