Denise Zavaleta is a Durham resident and North Carolina native. She is a member of MomsRising, a founding member of the Support for Exception Abilities Employee Network, and a BCBSNC Foundation Fellow Alumni. She has served on the NC Governor’s Council advocating for children with disabilities for the state. Denise is a frequent public speaker on the value of early intervention for children with development disabilities and safe food settings for children with food allergies.
When not in the gym with her boys, she can be found reading blogs about GMOs, perfecting her gluten-free muffin recipe or holding the other end of a rope in the NC mountains.
