Glennia Campbell is an attorney, politically progressive mom and activist who resides in Palo Alto, California. She is the author and publisher ofThe Silent I, an award-winning family travel and lifestyle blog. Established in 2005, The Silent I chronicles Glennia's family's travels, life in the midst of the Silicon Valley high tech roller coaster, and parenting a teen boy. The Silent I travel posts have been syndicated through Lonely Planet and We Blog the World. In addition to The Silent I, Glennia is a co-founder of MOMocrats, a long-time contributor to Kimchi Mamas, and a founding contributor to the former Silicon Valley Moms Blog.
Glennia has spoken and led workshops at numerous professional conferences, including Netroots Nation, BlogHer, and Mom 2.0., over the years on topics ranging from intellectual property to parenting. She is featured author in the book Mothers of Intention: How Women & Social Media are Revolutionizing Politics in America by Joanne Bamberger and her photography appears in Around the World with Lonely Planet Bloggers, published by Lonely Planet.
Glennia is the past-president of the Palo Alto - Menlo Park Parents Club and a life-long volunteer with children's and youth charities, homeless and women's shelters, and student mentoring programs. She is also a Founding Member of Progressive Women Silicon Valley and currently serves on its Steering Committee. Glennia works full-time for a major academic institution as a contract negotiator and is a member of the Board of Directors of Advocates for Youth.
