Ronald Denson Jr. (“JR”), a native Washingtonian, is a health policy advisor and educator. As Families USA’s Manager of Storytelling Initiatives, he connects patients and caregivers with decision-makers, media outlets, and the general public to bring greater attention to everyday stories about health care challenges and successes. His work supports policymakers, advocates, and other stakeholders in their consideration of policies and programs that can be used to improve healthcare quality, reliability, affordability, and equitability for all.

JR holds a master of science in health promotion management from American University and a bachelor of arts in Spanish linguistics from the University of Florida.
