Katie is the Membership Engagement Coordinator for the North Carolina Alliance for Health. For the first ten years of her professional career, Katie focused on formal education in public schools as a teacher and librarian. In 2012, she transitioned to the nonprofit world as director of Discovery Place-Kids, a children’s museum in Rockingham, NC. She joined NCAH in 2020 and enjoys adapting her experiences and knowledge from the public school system and the museum world to the health advocacy nonprofit organization.

I love the saying, “good things come in small packages.” It’s true of so many things but especially Little Free Libraries. Little Free Libraries are popping up all over the place: in neighborhoods, at roadside farm stands, along busy greenways, and many other places. The concept is simple: You can take a book and/or leave a book. Once you finish reading the book, bring it back to the Little Free Library and pick another one.
