Mariana Proske was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She lived in Mexico until the age of twelve. Thereafter, she moved to the Chicago area with her parents and younger brother. Being an English Language Learner (ELL) sparked Mariana's curiosity into other cultures. She attributes this as the basis to her passion for travel and hopes to one day visit every continent.

Mariana is a high school psychologist. Her other, and most important, title is mom. She is married to the love of her life who is trained as a foundry engineer. The family has a dog named Dora and would love to own a giant bunny one day.
