Thao Nguyen is the Managing Director of Advocacy for Feeding America, the largest anti-hunger relief organization in the country. As part of the Feeding America government relations team, she oversees federal advocacy strategy on behalf of organization’s network of 200 food banks and 60,000 partner agencies. For eight years, she oversaw advocacy campaigns that impact the lives of women and their families as the Director of Outreach for the National Women’s Law Center. She started her advocacy career teaching high school and college students about environmental organizing and building advocacy capacity for an HIV/AIDS women of color organization – with a stint teaching ESL in Japan in between. Thao received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of California, Irvine and a graduate degree in International and Comparative Legal Studies with an emphasis on Human Rights Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
