In these unsettling and often frightening times, we take comfort and strength in remembering that we still have each other. With tough battles already raging in defense of healthcare, schools, democracy, and more, the support, care, and love we give to each other must be our fortress, and each of us must gather people, build bridges, have conversations, and assemble our own fortress from which we can build our power and win.

The BlueSky platform is one such fortress. It is an independent social media platform that allows users to post short messages, images, and videos, similar to Twitter, but with an emphasis on openness and user control. No surprise, BlueSky communities (or fortresses!) are emerging, including #BookSky and #BlackSky. MomsRising is excited to announce that we will be the home of the #MomSky, and will be actively building this space.

The #MomSky hashtag community is where we will celebrate and gather the voices of moms and family members who believe in truth, action, and care. It will serve as a beacon and meeting place for moms, family members, and anyone else on social media who share our values of love, community, care, diversity, dignity, respect, safety, and democracy, and who are speaking out about and advocating for issues that lift women, children, families, and communities.

We invite everyone to help us build the #MomSky by 1) following MomsRising on BlueSky, and 2) adding #MomSky to your own social media posts – on BlueSky but also anywhere you are on social media. You can go here to see how our #MomSky community is growing. If you are interested in participating in deeper organizing and collaboration to build the #MomSky, please let us know by filling out this form letting us know where you are on social media.

We look forward to seeing you in the #MomSky!
