Exhibit A:  MomsRising member, Donna, from Wyoming somehow wrangled a State Director of Senator Enzi’s office to travel a hundred miles to see her and other MomsRising members about healthcare.  Here’s what she had to say about their meeting this week:

"I would encourage especially those moms who want to organize a meeting and don't live near their Senator's office, to go ahead and consider asking the Senate Staff (or Senator) to travel to THEM.  Perhaps because we live in the West, our Senator's staff was happy to travel to this meeting.  We were able to find a room at the local community college which was open and free for our use.  This allowed more of us to attend the meeting, since we didn't have to travel 100 miles to the nearest Enzi office.

I would encourage other moms to consider hosting an event like this, especially those who live in "purple" states and states with conservative Democrats or Republicans.  It was a simple meeting to set up, required very little time (although plenty of worry for this introverted mom, all of which ended up being 'no big deal').  We all left our meeting feeling hopeful that our Republican Senator will consider our input, and work on this in a nonpartisan manner.

I, in particular, left the meeting absolutely energized!  The meeting was so simple to plan, it went very smoothly, everyone was friendly, civil, and yet clear in their concerns, and our Senator's staff member was receptive and interested."

Sorry, there’s no other way to say this --  Wyoming Rocks!  Senator Enzi is one of the key Senators working on the healthcare bill in the Senate Finance Committee.   If one self-described, “introverted mom” can pull this off, imagine what we can achieve now that we number over a million MomsRising members!
