ICYMI: Care Advocates, ASSEMBLE!!! "This is a moral reckoning." - Sen. Booker
Care advocates, assemble!
This was the rallying cry at our #CareCantWait coalition event at the the U.S. Capitol. The gathering gave a much-needed shot of adrenaline to building support for President Biden's Build Back Better plan.
Check out highlights below, plus good news on the PUMP Act and the Action of the Week!
Keep rising...it's making a difference!
I’m proud to join @MomsRising, @domesticworkers, @SIEU and many others in the #CareCantWait coalition at today’s event at the Capitol. https://t.co/V2pKTuYkcG

Yes, we are still fighting for paid family/medical leave to stay in the package as @POTUS promised last week! Thank you, @SpeakerPelosi for keeping the fight on and raising the policy on @CNN this morning! #FamilyCareCantWait pic.twitter.com/fFp6H3gKlc — MomsRising (@MomsRising) October 24, 2021
STATEMENT: U.S. House Passage of PUMP Act Can Improve Health of Moms and Babies, But U.S. Senate Must Pass It, Too
"Our country's track record of supporting breastfeeding is abysmal. The PUMP Act is the strongest lactation workplace law ever to be considered by Congress." - MomsRising Senior Campaign Director Tina Sherman
ACTION OF THE WEEK: Tell Congress that everyone deserves to have health care coverage!
Even amidst a pandemic, there are still 12 states that have refused to expand Medicaid to low-income adults under the Affordable Care Act. Congress is currently considering a provision in the Build Back Better package that would permanently, quickly, and comprehensively close this harmful coverage gap. Urge your members of Congress to support it!
