The national childhood obesity rate has leveled off – and we’re even beginning to see rates decline in some places and among some groups! From large cities like Philadelphia to rural areas like Cherokee County, S.C., to entire states like New Mexico, these places and the approaches they’ve taken differ in many ways, but they all have one thing in common: They made the issue a priority, and worked hard to make it easier for children and families to be active and eat healthier foods.
