Our diversity is our nation’s most enduring strength. The fact that the people in our country, who come from all walks of life and tapestries of backgrounds, are free to live, love and worship as they will, is enshrined in our Constitution -- and is why America has long prospered.
 
That’s why President-elect Trump’s appointment of Stephen Bannon as chief White House strategist and senior counselor is so disturbing. Simply put, Bannon has a history of promoting sexism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, transphobia and white supremacy -- and has dedicated his life to dividing Americans.  This hurts our children, our families, our economy, and our nation.  Bannon’s role in the Trump White House poses a clear and present danger to millions of Americans, and we will not stand for it.
 
Donald Trump must immediately rescind his hiring of Bannon and prove to the country that he will be a President for all Americans by rejecting the unrepentant hate and bigotry of Stephen Bannon.  We call on Donald Trump to rescind the hiring of Bannon and on members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House to join us in urging him to do so for the good of our nation.
 
Our country is stronger together and MomsRising’s more than 1 million members spanning from California to Virginia will continue to strongly oppose Bannon’s appointment and work towards real solutions to our country’s challenges - solutions that treat all Americans equally and fairly.
