Please join us on June 10th at Columbia's Lerner Hall as we celebrate our 20th Year! Hosted by Columbia's Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies, the Galawill celebrate our work advancing and expanding racial justice, gender equality, and human rights both in the U.S. and internationally, and salute four individuals for their outstanding contributions to intersectional social justice:

  • Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN5), will receive the Shirley Chisholm Political Leadership Award
  • V-Day founder and playwright Eve Ensler will receive the Virginia Durr Solidarity Award,
  • MSNBC correspondent and political commentator Joy-Ann Reid will receive the George Curry Drum Major for Justice Award - For Excellence in Journalism;
  • Black feminist scholar and activist Barbara Smith will receive the Harriet Tubman Lifetime Achievement Award

The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is an innovative think tank that uses an intersectional lens to highlight and dismantle structural inequality. For 20 years, AAPF has connected lawyers, academics, activists, and policy-makers to promote intersectional justice across a broad spectrum of human rights issues.

Please check out this video of us at the Women's March with a few of the #SayHerName families.

Follow AAPF on Twitter and Facebook for more information on performers, speakers and much more!
